Trust Card Testimonials

What people say about using TRUST CARDS...

Trust Cards Testimonials on Team Building“I just wanted to let you know that we did in fact have a ‘big success’ at our senior management team building session. The Trust Cards worked exceptionally well and everyone felt that they really allowed us to communicate in a way that we had not experienced before. Several of our Regional Presidents took their set of cards with them to consider a similar session with their regional team building efforts.

We discovered variations on the use of the cards, and our group was ready and open to experiment. After the first two questions and the discussion that followed, we determined that our answers were pretty well distributed across the four principles of trust. However, most of our answers relating to the team question came from the Openness and Honesty principles. We then took a detour from our agenda and asked a question related to how the group could improve. Once again, most answers fell within Openness and Honesty principles. The behaviors picked most often were ‘Quickly surfaces and resolves conflict’ and ‘Gives sincere feedback.’ We decided that we would prominently place these two statements on our System Management meeting agendas in the future.

On behalf of SSM Health Care, I would like to thank you for your interest in making our meeting successful and for the time that you spent reviewing our ideas about the use of the cards. That was extremely helpful and certainly contributed to the success of our team building session.”

“Our teambuilding retreat was very successful; we made great strides in the area of ‘trust,’ which is an important building block for us as a new team. The Trust cards were VERY helpful as a ‘vehicle’ to stimulate the conversations. The cards helped everyone to be on ‘even ground,’ and they made it much easier for people to open up.”

“We used them in two ways; as a large group (seven people), but perhaps even more importantly we used them in pairs of two people. Each pair had to get to the root of their ‘issues,’ and the trust cards were one optional method; as it turns out, every single group chose to use them. The cards really helped people to focus.”

“I’ve used the Trust Cards during leadership management development workshops with mid-level managers, as well as during a session with two individuals who had difficulty communicating. This tool helped individuals focus on what’s important to them, and what they need from each other — as we cannot meet the needs of others if we don’t know what they are. The cards take the attention away from the source of the conflict, and create a safer and more comfortable environment as the cards can be used as language when words aren’t there.”
    — Fredy-Jo Grafman, Elan Pharmaceuticals

“The Trust Cards are a great tool. Using them takes away some of the anxiety that people experience when discussing sensitive issues such as disagreements, needs, and trust. The cards enhance one’s ability to be more objective, both about themselves and others, and to provide constructive feedback. I’ve used the cards on the Executive level, more specifically with a non-profit board that was in conflict, and on the individual level with executives and their direct reports. My clients have enjoyed the tactile experience, which also engages the participant. The cards open up lines of communication and hold people accountable. My clients have experienced an increased level of functioning as well as the ability to move ahead and reach goals, and refer to the experience as a ‘turning point.’ Until you try the tool, it will be difficult to see how powerful it is!”
    — Debra Moore, DK Moore & Associates

“Two key staff members were avoiding talking to one another and causing a noticeable decline in morale and sales. To prepare for a joint coaching session that I facilitated for them, I had each select the five Trust Cards that answered the question: ‘To re-gain my trust I need you to...’ The cards enabled both staff members to surface concerns and resolve the roots of the misunderstanding. In just one hour, they were able to make new agreements and clear the slate. Since then, the two have worked together smoothly with good results.”
    — Director of a retail operation

“I’ve used the Trust Cards during training sessions and seminars with managers from diverse industries. The cards are a good tool because they get people’s attention, and are interesting and hands-on. The Trust Cards help participants explore in an engaging way what makes them trust others, what makes them lose trust in others, and how to win other people’s trust. There are a lot of ‘ahas’ as participants see that other people’s expectations in a relationship may be very different than their own.”
    — Jan Zaragoza, President, High-Performance Training Solutions

“I used the Trust Cards for a team building exercise, during which each person had an opportunity to share the important elements of what they believe is needed to build trust. The team members asked questions and made comments throughout the process. Then we segued to the team members making statements about what they could do to help rebuild trust. This process served as a nice capstone to an earlier 360-degree feedback assessment on conflict.”
    — Russ Pierce, Ph.D.

“When trust is low, communication requires much more time and effort, mistakes are made,
creativity and energy drop. The confidence that trust brings to individuals, teams, or a company
      motivates and releases amazing potential.”
